Miners Have a Good Day in Killdeer.

The Miners headed west to Killdeer on Tuesday May 6th for a triangular meet with Killdeer and Trinity. The Miners had an interesting start to the day but had 55 PR's on the day while also picking up 5 new state qualifiers. The Miner Girls were team champs while the Boys took 3rd overall.


The Miner Boys had 4 Event Champs on the day with Rhyse Unruh (400m), Austin Mittelsteadt ( Long Jump, 300m Hurdles) and the 4x200 relay. They had 3 2nd place finishes on the day with the 4x100 B team and Anthony Hallett (Shot Put and Discus). They also got 3rd places finishes from Cooper Schepp (Long Jump, 100m), Jonas Braun (200m), Hudson Scheurer (110 Hurdles), and Cayden Isaak (Shot Put). They picked up 1 new State Qualifier on the day with Anthony Hallett in the Discus. Anthony threw the discus a distance of 139' 8". This puts Anthony 9th on the Schools top 10 list. The Boys had 20 PR's on the day but still have a lot of unfinished work to get done over the next few meets.


The Miners Girls had 6 Event Champs on the day with RyLee Yantzer (200m), Addison Schepp (100 Hurdles, Triple Jump), Tinley Kraft (300 Hurdles), Hannah McGraw (Pole Vault), and the 4x100 B Team. The Girls had 7 2nd Place finishes in Emma Dschaak (100 Hurdles), Brooklyn Byrum (300 Hurdles,High Jump), 4x100 A Team, 4x200 A Team, Emaley Keller (Javelin), and Isabelle Schnaidt (High Jump). They also had 5 3rd place finishes in Emma Dschaak (100m), Braelyn Hottman (100 Hurdles, Javelin) and Malayah Williams (Shot Put, Discus). The Girls had 35 PR's and picked up 6 Qualifiers with 4 being first time Qualifiers this year. The Girls got the first relay of the year qualified with the 4x200 relay. Members of the team are Elva Jasso, Addison Schepp, Emma Dschaak, and Braelyn Hottman. The Girls had 2 Girls Qualify the Discus as well on Tuesday as Malayah Williams threw the Discus 116' 7" and Paige Sailer throwing it 115' 11". The Girls had to other girls throw within 4' of qualifying as well in the Discus. The Girls are now up to 8 girls now qualified for the State Meet. The Girls have their sights set on getting a few more things qualified over the next few meets.



A quick update on the School Top 10 List after Tuesday's results. Anthony Hallett is 9th in Discus, Austin Mittelsteadt is 7th in Long Jump, Hudson Scheurer 5th in 110 Hurdles, Anthony Hallett is 6th in Shot Put, Emma Dschaak is 10th in 100m, RyLee Yantzer is 8th in 200m, Emma Dschaak is 9th in 100 Hurdles, Braelyn Hottman is 10th in 100 Hurdles, Addison Schepp is 2nd in Triple Jump, Isabelle Schnaidt is 8th in High Jump, Malayah Williams is 4th in Discus, Paige Sailer is 5th in Discus, Bailey Buchfinck is 8th in Discus, Tori Ziman is 10th in Discus, Addison Dale-Geiger is 5th in Javelin, Braelyn Hottman is 7th in Javelin, and the Girls 4x200 on Tuesday is now 10th overall.
