Miners Enjoy a Nice Day in Dickinson.


The team went to Dickinson on Friday April 10th for the Trinity Small Invite. The Miners had a good day in Dickinson as they pick 3 new events qualified for the state meet. The girls ended up finishing 2nd overall and boys finished 9th overall out of 15 teams. The miners had a few new PR's and a lot of SR's (Season Records) during the meet. The Miners main focus on the day was on the track and in the jumps as most the throwers stayed home to get ready for the home throwers meet.


On the boys side the Miners had a 12 PR's and picked up their first state qualifier on the day. The boys only placed in 4 individual events on the day and had 3 relays placed. The one event champ for the day was Cooper Schepp who won the 110m Hurdles and qualified with a time of 16.25. Cooper also placed 2nd in the 300m Hurdles. Teammates Owen Ziman and Colton Moch also placed on the day with Owen in the 800m and Colton in the 3200m. The boys had their 4x100 and 4x200 relays place 7th and 4x400 relay place 6th. Overall the boys had a good day and look to keep improving with their youth as the season goes on.


For the girls the Miners had 10 PR's on the day and picked up 2 new events qualified. The girls had Addison Schepp add two events to her list of events for the state meet with the 300m Hurdles and the Triple Jump. Addison also improved her time in the 100m Hurdles on the day. Addison was the event champ in the 100m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles on the day. The highlight of the day for the girls would be having 4 girls place in the High Jump to start the day. Bailey Buchfinck and Elva Jasso tied for 8th with teammates Izzy Schnaidt 4th and Brooklyn Byrum 3rd. Addison (2nd) and Bailey (7th) place in triple jump. The girls also placed in 3 relays with 4x100 (3rd), 4x200 (7th), and 4x400 (5th and 6th). RyLee Yantzer placed in the 200m and 400m. The one thrower that went in Eva Unruh placed 2nd in the Shot put with a 2 foot PR. The girls team had a lot of great performance out of their athletes and look to get a lot more the rest of the year.



The Schepp siblings had a great day for the Miners as they qualified events for the state meet but all the athletes had improvement on the day as all picked up a new PR or SR on the day. The Team looks forward to having the home throwers meet on Saturday April 11th and getting back to work the following week.
