Miner's Host Home Throwers Meet for a 2nd Straight Year

On Saturday April 11th the Miners hosted their 2nd annual Throwers Meet. About 80 athletes from 10 team brought throwers to throw in Beulah on Saturday. The Miners had a good day as the girls won the girls division while the boys tied for 5th. The Miner throwers picked up 7 PR's on the day along with some SR's.
The girls started the day off with 3 girls making the finals in discus with Malayah Williams, Tori Ziman, and Bailey Buchfinck. Malayah took 2nd with a 100' 3" throw, Tori took 4th with 95' 11", and Bailey took 5th with 92' 10". In Shot Put Malayah won with a new PR of 39' 6". Bailey placed 6th with a 30' 3". In Javelin the girls also had 3 girls make the Finals in Addison Dale-Geiger, Braelyn Hottman, and Tori Ziman. Addison ended up being 2nd with 107' 3" throw and Braelyn taking 8th with 95' 0". Tori would finish 9th with a new PR of 93' 6". The girls picked up 5 PR's with Malayah, Tori, and Aubrey Feil in Shot Put and Tori and Bailey in Javelin.
The boys had an off day and struggled to improve a lot of their marks in the throws. The boys only placed twice on the day. Brady Schaner placed 6th in Shot Put with 37' 8" and 2nd in discus with 129' 0". The boys had 2 PR's coming from Gunner Oyen in both Shot Put and Discus. The boys will have to get back to work this week if they want to keep being high placers in the throws like they have been in meets earlier this season.

The Miner will be back in action next Thursday April 16th in Washburn for a full team meet.
